my very cool and epic devlog



day 1:

this isnt technicaly my first day doing it but still, ive managed to set up the movement system with a tutorial from sara spalding on yt .

ive also managed to create a sprite sheet for the player character (dont have a name in mind for them yet) and a battle system that i created by fusing Inscyrption , Yo-kai Watch , and a little bit of chess. i've also made a grasslands tileset texture, it was such a pain to make sure it all fit together like a jigsaw

ill include some images to show what im planning to do!

sorry for the bad handwriting, but featured in the sketch is my first designed character (excluding the character), Tom! im hoping to give him an entrance like sans' in undertale where he's seemingly mysterious but then goofy, but i wont have to think of that for a while. ive still gotta make the essentials of the game



day 4:


okay so honestly ive been procrastinating pretty hard but i was able to make some simple animations for my character sprite ^^
but the thing is, i kinda ,messed upo and the up and down animations were accidentally flipped :(((
heres the failed test i did.
dont mind the random frisk npc, im planning to make them a test npc for dialogue boxes and decisions ;0;



day 5


soo today, im not really gonna do much, i might follow the 3rd tutorial by sara spalding but apart from that, i might design another party member ^^


day 6:

hihihihi!!!! so i made a way for stopping movement when colliding with stuff (only a semi-transparent red square for now) and i accidentally made a bug but fixed it cause im so smart (i accidentallymade an extra frame in the animations) heres a test video (with the bug still in place) also i only today realised that the tutorial by sara spalding that ive been following isnt the same kind of RPG that i wanna make so im gonna have to find some more tutorials for that :(
